#TeamTuesday: Gordon Saylor

Get to know the members of the Urban League Board better with our weekly #TeamTuesday features! This week we are happy to introduce you to Gordon Saylor!

About Gordon Saylor

Gordon has been involved with ULL for 15 years - having joined as an individual member out of pure interest in the machinations of community groups. The treasurer's role seemed a natural fit when it opened up six years ago. Two notable areas of involvement over the years were the review of the continued need of the "board of control" (eliminated) and a very extensive public review of council compensation (recommendations dismissed by council). Gordon currently represents Old South Community Organization at the League. Gordon has been a member of OCSO for 20 years and a resident of Old South for 45 years (it is even on his licence plate).

Gordon has a long history of active involvement in our community beginning with London Community Players (Palace Theatre) 30 years ago. Theatre remains a passion to this day. Housing (London Middlesex Community Housing), environment (Thames Talbot Land Trust and Sifton Bog Master Plan), downtown (Covent Garden Market) and local history (Fanshawe Pioneer Village) are a few of the areas of interest for Gordon where he has contributed his time over the years.

This has all been so much fun that Gordon left behind the corporate world (professionally) 20 years ago and devoted his career to the not-for-profit/charitable sector.

And never looked back!
