Feature: The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario

Each Friday, join us as we learn a bit more about the active group members of the Urban League of London. This week, we will be introducing you to The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario, a community group within London.

The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario was founded in 2019 by Dani Bartlett and Linda Davis with Federal funding through the Canadian Federation of University Women of London. The 4-year grant was to create the Gender Equality Coalition (GECO). Their mandate is to help their community achieve gender equality through awareness of the issues and the solutions in a shared, consultative environment.

The current chair of The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario is Dr. Amanda Zavitz, overseeing 65 members! They host monthly virtual speaker series, and have a larger conference coming up on September 29th!

The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario joined the Urban League as a group member in 2021, with the goal to connect with other organizations in London.

The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario is actively recruiting members. Connect with them on their website or social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for more information.
